CSI Mobile/Office Class Agenda -- Wednesday, Nov. 10

Presented by and designed for law enforcement personnel

REGISTER NOW -- For those who work in law enforcement or are involved in accident and/or crime reconstruction, this is a FREE workshop to both introduce CSI Mobile in the field and CSI Office for reporting and to provide instruction in their use.  Instruction will be provided by Mike Flamm, Detective with the Cincinnati PD, and his colleague, Rob Uhlenbrock.  Please jCSI Mobile -- crime/accident reconstruction software designed specifically for law enforcement personneloin us 8 a.m. to 12 noon on the 16th floor of the Brown Hotel, Louisville, Ky., for this free and informative session; breakfast and a take away lunch will be provided.

NOTE: This program helps to significantly lessen the amount of time traffic needs to be blocked when investigating even the most complicated of accident scenes. It also allows police personnel to do thorough crime and accident scene documentation without the need for consultants.

Overview from presenters: Programs used by police have traditionally been "off the shelf," tweaked slightly and then called "police friendly," but, in truth, not designed specifically for us. We wanted to help develop a data collection program designed "for police, by police," and subsequently worked closely with Carlson Software to develop CSI Mobile. We will be giving a little bit of the behind-the-scenes work that resulted in CSI Mobile, outlining our goals for the program and how we accomplished them.

Agenda:
To demonstrate why we believe that CSI Mobile is the most police-friendly data collection program in the world, we will show the following:

--Simply laid out and not cluttered Map Screen
--Terminology in "English" -- i.e. complicated surveying terms removed
--Simple-to-learn "Move" feature (see how the program instructs users to move the Total Station step-by-step
--Step-by-step instructions for the Offset command
--Simplified commands to add vehicles into the drawing (only requires two points to drop a scaled vehicle into a drawing)
--Program supplies an extensive vehicle database, complete with vehicle specs
--Editing made easy -- previous taken points and descriptions can be edited
--CSI Mobile provides the information needed for later 3D renderings

The presentation will be followed by an hands-on demonstration of the ease-of-use of the program complete with a Total Station set up. Also, have the opportunity to participate in a discussion of future ideas and capabilities of CSI Mobile. In conclusion, Mike and Rob will discuss Carlson CSI Office and its development and capabilites.
